Accessibility
Yes, Illusionaries is designed to be accessible to individuals using wheelchairs. All exhibition rooms are on the ground floor, with a flat entryway ensuring effortless access.
That said, it's important to note that because of our venue's constraints and the delicate nature of our art installations, we prioritise the safety and comfort of all guests. As such, motorised wheelchairs and mobility scooters are not permitted inside.
For those in need, we offer wheelchairs on-site which can be borrowed at no additional cost. Our team is always on hand to assist, so feel free to approach any staff member when you arrive.
For any further queries or assistance, please reach out to us at support@Illusionaries.com.
Our venue offers fully accessible toilets located outside the premises, which can be accessed by a lift that also provides ample space for caregivers. These toilets are designed to cater to the needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring that they have a comfortable and convenient experience while at our venue.

While we don't offer specific discounts for our visitors with disabilities, we believe that access to culture and art should be available to everyone. We are committed to making your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Therefore, we provide a provision for one accompanying carer per eligible visitor, completely free of charge. This means there's no need to purchase a separate ticket for your carer.
If you wish to bring along a carer, we ask that you present appropriate proof of eligibility when you visit. Upon presentation at the entrance, this documentation will secure your carer's complimentary admission.
Below is a list of documents we might take into consideration when providing a complimentary carer ticket:
A Personal Independence Payment (PIP) document.
Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
A letter from a medical professional, such as a doctor's note or a letter from an occupational therapist.
A Carer's Allowance document.
A Nimbus Access Card with the '+1' symbol.
A Social Services letter: Confirmation in writing from Social Services that the individual is included on their Deaf Register, or a letter or report from an aural specialist confirming that hearing loss has been recorded at 70 - 95 dBHL or worse.
A War Pensions Mobility Allowance document.
A blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CVI certificate).
A personal letter from the GP, community nurse, or social worker.
A Disabled Person's Railcard or Bus Pass.
A document of registration with the Blue Badge Scheme.
Any document of proof of receiving benefits for disability.
A CredAbility Access Card.
A Companion/Carer Card from your local council or organisation.
Please remember, we understand that every individual's situation is unique. Therefore, if you have other forms of proof of eligibility that are not listed above, please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We also understand that you might prefer to handle this discreetly. If you would rather not present your proof of eligibility at the entrance, you are welcome to send it to us in advance via email at support@illusionaries.com. We will then provide you with a confirmation message that you can simply present at the door.
If you have any additional questions, need further clarification, or require any assistance, we are here for you. We eagerly await the opportunity to welcome you to Illusionaries.
The age limit at Illusionaries can vary depending on the specific exhibition and its suitability for different age groups. We advise potential visitors to check the event page of the exhibition they are interested in for detailed age restrictions and guidelines. Some exhibitions may cater more to an adult audience, while others might be open to younger attendees. Remember to bring proper identification, as age verification may be required upon entry.
Regrettably, we do not permit dogs or any other pets within our premises. However, we make an exception for assistance dogs, such as guide dogs, seeing eye dogs, and hearing dogs.
We limit the number of visitors in each time slot to ensure the best experience for everyone. Therefore, regardless of the time slot you choose, you can expect a pleasant visit.
